Other pitches (A, C, D) are also available.<\/p>\n\n<p>Sch\u00e4fer pipes are overblowable due to their conically bored chanter and have an almost chromatically playable range of 1 1\/2 octaves with their traditional, semi-closed fingering<a href=\"\/media\/files\/pdf\/gt-schaeferpfeife-g.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(fingering chart<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p>Due to the large range and playable semitones, you can play excellent melodies from a wide variety of musical eras and regions on them.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Due to their powerful but not excessive volume and pleasant sound, they are perfectly suited for playing together with guitar, violin, accordion, hurdy-gurdy, (transverse) flute and many other instruments<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uilleann-pipes.de\/dateien\/schulinstrumente.mp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(sound example<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p>Those who start playing the shepherd&#8217;s pipe can enjoy a wide range of <a href=\"https:\/\/bagpipe.de\/shop\/verlag-der-spielleute\/lehrbuecher-verlag\/\">textbooks<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bagpipe.de\/shop\/verlag-der-spielleute\/noten-sammlungen\/\">sheet music collections<\/a> and course offerings.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.bagpipe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/11\/image-15.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-932\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bagpipe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/11\/image-15.png 350w, https:\/\/bagpipe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/11\/image-15-64x91.png 64w, https:\/\/bagpipe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/11\/image-15-212x300.png 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Fig: Illustration of a shepherd&#8217;s pipe by Michael Praetorius<br\/>(Syntagma Musicum, 1619)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Middle Ages bagpipes<\/h2>\n\n<p>These non-historic bagpipes were developed from the Scottish Great Highland Bagpipes and have been played for many years by numerous groups, especially at medieval fairs.<\/p>\n\n<p>In order to learn to play this very loud bagpipe that blows with plenty of power, it is recommended to use a <a href=\"\/?product_cat=uebungsfloeten-practice-chanter-dudelsack-spielen-lernen\">\n  <strong>practice whistle<\/strong>\n<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/bagpipe.de\/shop\/dudelsack-spielen-lernen\/lehrbuecher\/\">\n  <strong>textbook<\/strong>\n<\/a> to start with.<\/p>\n\n<p>Very interesting is also the <strong>WeePipe<\/strong>, which can be combined with the medieval practice whistle and is also suitable for children.<\/p>\n\n<p>Since we do not manufacture the large medieval bagpipes ourselves, we will be happy to recommend manufacturers from whom you can have such an instrument made upon request.
