This collection in three volumes continues the successful series of ‘Schnurrpfeiffereyen’ and contains dance melodies from the 13th to the 20th century.<\/p>\n
The melodies are playable on drone and many other instruments. A large number of the melodies in Volumes I & II were collected at musicians’ meetings in Germany and neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
The first volume contains 122 couple dances, dating from the 18th – 20th centuries. They are sorted by dance styles, mostly notated in one voice and mostly in the key of ‘C’.<\/p>\n
English:<\/strong><\/p>\n 122 dance tunes from the 13th to the 20th century<\/p>\n This three-volume collection compiled and illustrated by Martina Sirtl is a follow-up to the successful “Schnurrpfeiffereyen” series.<\/p>\n It contains dance tunes from the 13th to the 20th centuries, which can be played on a variety of instruments with or without drones.<\/p>\n Volume 1 contains 122 partnered dances from the 18th to 20th centuries: schottisch, polka, bourr\u00e9e, waltz, mazurka, round dances, minuet, or march. They are sorted by dance type, usually written in a single part and mostly in C major.<\/p>\n A large number of the tunes in volumes I and II was collected at musicians’ gatherings in Germany and its neighboring countries.
