This three-volume collection continues the successful series of ‘Schnurrpfeiffereyen’ and contains dance tunes from the 13th to the 20th century.
The melodies are playable on drone and many other instruments. A large number of the melodies in Volumes I & II were collected at musicians’ meetings in Germany and neighboring countries.
In the second volume 133 dance melodies such as Branle, Contredance, Matelotte, Allemande, Gavotte, Zwiefacher, Ländler, and others were included and arranged according to their origin.
Part of the volume presents particularly beautiful dances from collections of the 18. and 19th c. from the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland. Some dances are in two voices. They are mostly notated in ‘C’.

This three-volume collection compiled and illustrated by Martina Sirtl is a follow-up to the successful “Schnurrpfeiffereyen” series.
It contains dance tunes from the 13th to the 20th centuries, which can be played on a variety of instruments with or without drones.
In the second volume, 133 dance tunes such as branles, contredances, matelottes, allemandes, gavottes, zwiefacher or landler are collected, sorted by origin.
One part of the volume presents some particularly beautiful dances from 18th and 19th century collections from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Ireland. Some tunes are set in two parts. They are mainly notated in C major.
A large number of the tunes in volumes I and II was collected at musicians’ gatherings in Germany and its neighboring countries. Before our publication, many of the dance tunes in these volumes were hardly available in print in Germany.
