In this course, “Three Favorite Pieces with…. Fiona Rüggeber (Tvinna, Ex-Faun)” the talented bagpiper Fiona Rüggeber is in the spotlight. The course series presents their three favorite pieces, “An Dro,” “Rhiannon,” and “Sandpipers.” Fiona will first teach you the basic versions of the pieces before showing you her elaborated versions in detail. This will allow you to benefit from their experience and skills and expand your own capabilities.
The course offers not only practical instructions, but also a conversation between Thomas (the course instructor) and Fiona, in which the characteristics of the pieces as well as their backgrounds are illuminated. The three pieces are graded by difficulty, with the traditional “An Dro” accessible from about 6-12 months of playing experience (difficulty 3-4). Fiona’s own composition “Rhiannon” is more demanding (difficulty level 6-7) and challenges your skills with more complex grips and techniques. Toon van Mierlo’s composition “Sandpipers” (difficulty level 6-7), which will present you with new musical challenges, can be classified in the same way.
