Description
The three-volume collection, compiled and illustrated by Martina Sirtl, continues the successful series of ‘Schnurrpfeiffereyen’ and contains dance melodies from the 13th to the 20th century. The melodies are playable on drone and many other instruments.
The third volume contains 73 two- to four-part dances from the 13th – 18th centuries. from Italy, France, Germany, England and the Netherlands were noted. They are arranged in groups according to the origin of the composers.
Recorded are exclusively original sentences, which have been adapted to our current spelling. Preference is given to composers who set their dances for special instruments such as hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, crumhorn, pommer, shawm, cittern, etc.
Almost half of the dances are notated in ‘C’, about a quarter each in ‘F’ and ‘G’.

This three-volume collection compiled and illustrated by Martina Sirtl is a follow-up to the successful “Schnurrpfeiffereyen” series.
It contains dance tunes from the 13th to the 20th centuries, which can be played on a variety of instruments with or without drones.
The third volume includes 73 two- to four-part dances from the 13th to 18th centuries from Italy, France, Germany, England, and the Netherlands.
They are arranged in groups by the origins of their composers. Only original settings have been included, but adapted to modern notation. Preference was given to composers who set their dances for specific instruments, such as hurdy-gurdy, bagpipe, crumhorn, bombard, shawm, cittern, etc.
Nearly half of the dances is notated in C major, about a quarter each in F and G major.
