Description
This CD is included with our dance textbook ‘Renaissance Dances after Thoinot Arbeau’. However, it can also be ordered separately as a CD here
Parallel to the textbook, the music production of the same name was created under the direction of musicians and arrangers Katharina Dustmann and Marco Ambrosini.
All thirty of the dances described in the book are recorded on this CD in the form of twelve suites in an excellent recording on period instruments. Attention was paid on the one hand to the dance combinations handed down by Arbeau, and on the other hand to the way the dances were set up and their degree of difficulty.
All melodies are recorded in exactly the right form for the dance and are directly selectable on the CD. The lengths of the dances, the transitions and the tempos of the recordings have been carefully coordinated in collaboration with historical dance groups.
This CD with its musically convincing and vividly arranged Renaissance music is also a real listening pleasure for the pure music lover!
